The Problem
With a series of rooflights and plasterboard walls, the reverberation time in this student multi purpose classroom and hall was uncomfortably long before our installation.
Student density, and a quiet learning environment meant that noises made in the space were particularly disruptive to students and their learning.
The Solution
Key was to reduce the reverberation time in the space to a level that would negate the noise propelled by hard surfaces around the room.
Class A acoustic absorbers from Ecophon were strategically places on available ceiling surfaces. The off-white colour allowed the panels to blend into the space.
The Result
The installation reduced the length of noise reflection from an uncomfortable 2.53 seconds, to an appropriate time of 1.12 seconds.
