Wiggin, London
The problem: Wiggin wanted a modern, open office that encouraged collaboration. But open layouts and hard surfaces bring noise problems. Sound carries across the floor and busy areas get loud quickly. For a law firm, they deal with confidential matters every day, so speech privacy matters as much as comfort. Staff need to concentrate, take calls and hold private conversations without being overheard.

Our solution
Resonics installed a range of acoustic solutions in the reception, meeting rooms and circulation spaces. The aim was to control noise and echo, protect speech privacy, and ensure the product matched the look of the fit-out.
Reception
The reception is the first thing clients see and it’s often one of the loudest spaces. We installed a Tenso stretched fabric ceiling to absorb sound and stop noise building up as people arrive. It keeps the space calm and professional while giving the reception a clean, high-end look.
Meeting Rooms
In rooms with hard surfaces, voices echo and become harder to follow, people raise their voices to be heard and sound can travel beyond the room. We installed Tenso Wall to improve sound quality, making speech clearer and meetings more comfortable, whether you are in the room or joining remotely.
Circulation Areas
Corridors and walkways have a steady flow of people moving through them, with noise quickly building up and disturbing those working in adjacent spaces. To control noise in these spaces, we installed The Wood Veneer Hub Akupanel FR panels along key walls to decrease the amount of noise drifting into nearby areas.
Sound Masking
Absorption reduces echo and noise, but it can’t stop a nearby conversation from being overheard. To protect privacy, we installed a Soft dB sound masking system. It adds a low, even background sound, which makes speech harder to make out. Most people stop noticing it within a few minutes, but it means confidential conversations stay confidential and people are less distracted by what’s happening around them.
The Outcome
The result is a workplace where people can collaborate, concentrate and hold private conversations, all on the same floor.
The reception is calm and welcoming for clients. Meeting rooms are clearer and more comfortable for both in-person and video meetings. Corridors are quieter, with less noise spilling into work areas. And the sound masking gives staff the privacy a law firm needs, even in an open layout.
