First Rate
The problem: First Rate moved into a blank canvas office in Datchet at a pivotal moment for the business. Having recently refreshed their branding, they needed a workspace that reflected this new identity not just cosmetically but functionally. The office needed to support a mix of working styles: high-energy collaborative zones alongside quieter areas for focused work. Without acoustic treatment, noise from busier spaces like the reception and open-plan areas risked spilling into adjacent zones, undermining the balance the design was trying to achieve.
Our solution
Resonics supplied and installed a range of acoustic treatments, weaving acoustic performance and brand identity into a cohesive design.
Silent Space Rafts were installed across the reception and higher-energy zones, absorbing sound at the source in the busiest, highest-traffic areas and reducing noise transfer into quieter parts of the office.
In the meeting room, Wood Veneer Hub Acupanel Luxe panels created a warm, high-end finish, paired with a bespoke Autex Cube panel with First Rate’s logo cut through the surface to reveal a contrasting colour beneath, bringing their branding directly into the space without compromising acoustic performance.
In the reception, Wood Veneer Hub Charcoal Black panels were installed alongside LED strips, set against the white interior for maximum contrast. The result is a reception area that immediately signals the business’s identity to anyone walking in.
Throughout the project, Resonics worked alongside other trades on site, coordinating installation to avoid clashes and delays. Clear communication and careful planning meant the acoustic fit-out kept pace with the wider programme, with every panel installed to a high standard of finish.
The Outcome
First Rate now has an office that moves easily between collaboration and focus — energetic where it needs to be, calm and focused where it counts and unmistakably branded throughout.
The bespoke Autex Cube and illuminated Charcoal Black reception wall give the space real presence, while the acoustic performance underpinning it all means the design choices never come at the cost of a comfortable, productive working environment.
