The problem: Mildreds Soho faced a familiar acoustic challenge many restaurants face, noise built throughout service until it became hard to hear anything. The team wanted a fix that would make the space more comfortable for diners and staff without compromising the restaurant's character.

Our solution
We worked with Mildreds to bring sound absorption into the space that felt like part of the interior.
Using Silent Space Print Panels and artwork supplied by the client, we produced acoustic panels and set them within frames so they read as gallery pieces rather than acoustic treatment. Positioned along the walls by the seating, they absorb sound at the source, catching noise before it has the chance to bounce around the room, while adding to the restaurant’s visual identity rather than sitting apart from it.
Silent Space Ceiling Rafts were strategically placed across the ceiling, providing high-performance sound absorption and helping to reduce echo and reverberation.
Because the building is listed, our team had to work within those constraints to ensure the installation didn’t affect the protected features of the building.
The Outcome
Noise no longer builds unchecked through service. Conversations stay at the table and the sound of a full house no longer dominates the space.
With the right approach to acoustic treatment, a listed space can be made comfortable without compromising what makes it worth protecting.
