London BioScience Innovation Centre

The problem: The London BioScience Innovation Centre (LBIC) supports a range of working styles, from focused meetings to co-working spaces, managing noise in these spaces was essential. The challenge was to create a calm and comfortable acoustic environment without compromising the look and feel of the workplace.

Our solution

Resonics designed and installed a tailored suite of Autex acoustic products throughout LBIC’s office, introducing warmth, texture and a sense of calm while effectively managing sound across different zones.

Meeting Rooms

In the meeting rooms, Autex Beam Grid ceiling systems and Autex Groove wall panels were installed to support clear communication and acoustic privacy. These treatments reduce external noise intrusion and improve speech clarity, ensuring meetings, video calls and one-to-one conversations can take place without distraction. Whether presenting, collaborating or catching up, the acoustics support the way people work.

Collaboration and Co-working Space

In the breakout and co-working areas, Autex Horizon panels were suspended directly above booths and seating zones to significantly reduce sound transfer to surrounding spaces, stopping noise at its source. Over the tea point, Autex beam baffles were installed to control reverberation in a high-use area, helping to create a space that feels comfortable, functional and inviting for both focused work and informal collaboration.

The Outcome

As workplaces continue to evolve towards more flexible and hybrid ways of working, acoustics play a critical role.

The integrated acoustic treatments manage sound across meeting rooms, co-working areas and tea points, supporting a variety of working styles and preventing noise from becoming disruptive. The result is a balanced, comfortable sound environment that improves everyday use of the space.
