Brasserie Blanc, Beaconsfield

The problem: Brasserie Blanc, a upmarket French restaurant, was receiving regular feedback from diners about excessive noise levels, particularly within its large, dome-shaped dining area. The impressive architectural dome, finished with ornate woodwork, created a visually stunning feature — but one that strongly reflected sound. As conversations amplified and reverberation increased, the dining experience was affected.

Our solution

Maintaining the integrity of the restaurant’s aesthetic was essential, especially the ceiling that formed the centrepiece of the room. To achieve this, Resonics designed and installed a discreet, high-performance stretched fabric acoustic wall system across the plasterboard sections of the walls.
Placed at both elevated and seated-height positions, the acoustic treatment effectively absorbs conversation noise at the source. This prevents sound from rising into the highly reflective dome, significantly reducing echo and improving clarity throughout the dining room.
The Tenso Wall acoustic system allowed us to integrate acoustic absorption seamlessly into the existing interior, without drawing visual attention.

The Outcome

The transformation delivered a dramatic improvement in the acoustic quality of the space:

  • Noticeably reduced reverberation time in the dome-shaped dining area.
  • Enhanced comfort and conversational clarity for diners.
  • Positive customer feedback following installation.
  • A visually unobtrusive solution that preserves the room’s architecture.
