With years of experience in the acoustic industry, we know a thing or two about the best approach to acoustic comfort.

Guide

Working in various spaces and industries, we’ve fine-tuned our approach and developed seven key principles to ensure we achieve the perfect acoustic balance.

Keeping to these seven simple rules, we can create the perfect sound environment – no matter the room or noise problem.

If you have a noise issue, our sound experts can help restore acoustic comfort to your space, providing valuable insights and recommendations to achieve the right balance.

1. Calculate the coverage required to achieve an acoustically balanced environment.

There’s no need to cover every square inch of your room in sound-absorbing material – we calculate the exact amount required so there is no waste when it comes to materials or budget.

2. Choose quality materials and think about the lifecycle of your space.

It’s better to cover less space in Class A materials (that achieve up to 90% sound absorption) than to cover more space with substandard materials.

3. Aim to cover at least ⅓ of the space with sound-absorbing materials.

4. Placement is key.

Placing panels throughout the space and at key reflection points ensures sound is absorbed from different directions.

5. Treating both ceiling and walls.

Treating both ceiling and walls ensures that sound is absorbed from as many directions as possible.

6. Choose the right acoustic panel for the room type.

With so many acoustic products on the market, it’s important you choose a material that is fit for purpose. For example, a sports hall has different requirements than an office. A sports hall would need a durable impact-resistant panel due to the usage of the space by sporting activities, whereas in an office this wouldn’t be a need.

7. Understand the acoustics of your space.

Some spaces need an element of liveliness about them. If too much sound absorption is installed it can make the space sound flat. In social spaces, it’s important to get the balance right.
