Built about 100 years ago, the Furneux Pelham village hall is now used as a venue for social events, meetings of village organisations, keep fit groups and also the village post office.
As we often see with village halls, high open ceilings and many hard surfaces result in a sub-optimal acoustic environment. High reverberation times were causing discomfort for patrons, regardless of the activity at the time. High reverberation results in poor speech intelligibility and overall irritation for those using the space.
We installed a high-density of Ecophon Solo Rectangle acoustic panels to the hall’s ceiling. Offering Class A acoustic absorption, the panels effectively reduced the interior noise levels and restored comfort to the hall’s users.
