Project Description

Another great project completed. A refurbishment project at the John Lennon building at Liverpool John Moores University.

The £27 million John Lennon Art and Design Building was designed by leading architect Rick Mather and was awarded the RIBA award for Architecture. This iconic six-storey building offers purpose built art and design facilities with seminar rooms, galleries, catering and exhibition space and stunning roof terraces with spectacular city views.

Resonics were trusted to acoustically treat the auditorium and assembly spaces with acoustic rafts, custom grooved wall panels and slatted timber panelling. Quite a unique project, and one we were excited to be a part of.

The high ceilings were a signifant challenge, with our team requiring scissor lift access to fit around 100 panels to the ceilings. These panels perform the bulk of the work at reducing echo within the space, which was making the auditorium very loud.

Resonics were engaged to complete the installation of all acoustic products and the results are truly stunning!
