Project Description

The Problem

Hotham Primary School contacted Resonics to provide an acoustic solution to its sports hall following complaints of a harsh noise environment. Comprised of hard, reflective wall, ceiling and floor surfaces, the hall was experiencing a lengthy reverberation time, amplified by the noise of groups of students and sport activity. Imperative was the need to reinforce the robust, high impact construction of the hall, to continue to allow recreational sport in the hall.

The Solution

Resonics installed a series of colourful, high-impact-resistant acoustic wall panels, tailored to the hall’s unique shape.

The Result

The high performance acoustic panels created the perfect sound environment in the hall; reducing the reverberation time to a comfortable level whilst still facilitating clear verbal communication. The impact resistant panels meant that the hall could remain as a place for recreational sport with the peace of mind that the acoustic environment would not be compromised.
