The Problem
This multi storey library at London’s Kings College was excessively noisy, owing largely to its high ceiling and open-plan design. Users were complaining of difficulty in concentrating when using the library, prompting the college to seek an acoustic solution.
The Solution
We installed a combination of a suspended acoustic ceiling in the library’s study rooms and wall panels in the larger circulation and study space to create a comfortable acoustic environment.
The Result
The use of a suspended acoustic ceiling covering a large surface area in library, complemented with wall panelling, restored acoustic comfort to the library.
